The Deborah Battigelli Memorial Fund at the Foundation supports postgraduate researchers' travel to present their research at the annual International Rainy-Lake of the Woods Watershed Forum. Support is typically offered for up to one student per year.
Eligible candidates include MSc and PhD candidates or recently graduated, pursuing scholarly training and research on the water quality or ecological heath issues of the lakes and rivers in the Lake of the Woods region. To receive support through the fund, a candidate's research abstracts must be accepted for presentation at the Forum.

Assisting the up-and-coming generation of scientists with their research on our lakes is an important part of continuing to build the research base and capacity for protecting the water quality and ecological health of our lake area for generations to come.
To honour the memory of Deborah Battigelli, her family has established The Deborah Battigelli Memorial Fund at the Lake of the Woods Water Sustainability Foundation. This Fund honours Deborah’s love of life at the lake and her interest to preserve the lake area for future generations to continue to enjoy what she loved.
Contributions to The Deborah Battigelli Memorial Fund at the Lake of the Woods Water Sustainability Foundation can be made at any time and in any amount.
